As vastly experienced funeral directors, our role is to provide families with all pertinent information to ensure that they can meet the wishes of their deceased loved one. Our function is primarily the planning and organisation of the essential elements of the funeral when a family has a bereavement. This can be a distressing period for most people, and for this reason, we discreetly handle all the funeral arrangements, liasing with Churches, graveyards, florists, among others, to ensure families experience as little stress at such a time of grief and sadness.
We are very proud of the service we have provided for nearly one hundred years. We regularly deal with the same families from generation to generation and we firmly believe that families choose us because of our attention to detail, professionalism and the personal touches that only a family run business can achieve.
It is important for families to know that they have options when it comes to funeral arrangements and services. We provide a full range of options from traditional funeral services to less conventional options. Below are some options available:
- Evening and Morning Funerals
This choice of funeral service is a traditional custom, which involves an evening removal to the church for some short prayers, and the deceased reposing over night in the church before the Funeral Mass/ Service the following morning, after which, the Funeral would proceed to the cemetery/ crematorium.
Alternatively, some prefer to go direct to the Church on the morning of the Funeral Mass/ Service, and then proceeding to the cemetery/ crematorium.
- Civil / Non-Denominationals
Another option is to have a Funeral with little or no religious reference. These services often take place in cemetery/ crematorium chapels, and can be as simple as family members or friends saying a few words at the service or conducted by a civil celebrant. Again these services, then proceed to the cemetery/ crematorium.
We are conscious, that todays society expect "greener" options when it come to many services and we believe Funerals should be no different. Where possible we offer environment-friendly options, including our coffins. We stock a willow option which is woven using traditional methods as an alternative to traditional coffins.
There is no set framework for one's Funeral, we try to work with the wishes of the deceased and his/her family to have a service which meets those wishes. Whether it be one of the above options or a simple removal straight from a hospital to a cemetery/ crematorium. We can help to make these arrangements.
